If you realize you are in an inefficient meeting or in a discussion that is going nowhere you have a method of improving the situation: Check Out. The Check Out Protocol requires you to remove yourself if you are in an unproductive situation. If you, or people you are with, are not fully present or if there is someplace else that it would be better for you to be then you should Check Out and do what you need so that you can Check In again.
